Flight is an imposing contemporary work that is suitable for festival and/or mid-concert performances. Bringing dreams and thoughts to life, the programmatic piece tells a story of one’s journey through the heavens on a plane, from take-off, to landing. The work itself contains four movements that are played without stopping: “Soaring Over the Sky”, “Flying with Birds”, “Soaring over Clouds”, and “Arrival” — The theme of the entire work comes from the leitmotif melody from the beginning of the overture with the Horn in F. As the story unfolds, the theme is played to portray the plane’s arrival. This exciting composition was written for the kind-hearted and spirited. We all need the courage to fly!
